Welcome to ScoreNotes.com.

I've been a fan of soundtracks for over 12 years.

Well, at least, that's the official statement. You see, I had fallen in love with film music as a kid but I had never thought to take it out of the cinema or the VCR (in the 80's) with me. Upon reaching adulthood, I made a rather innocent purchase of a "Conan the Barbarian" cassette as a curious point of interest. I couldn't stay away from Basil Poledouris any longer! Little did I know that this tape would propel me to fall in love with film music in all its genres and eras. After that fateful day, there was no turning back.

At its best, soundtrack music offers the listener a chance to craft his or her own adventures or to re-live a beloved moment from a movie or video game. The music can range from epic statements to intimate moments, all in the wave of a baton.

I've created this site with appreciation and respect for the industry. Within these pages, you will find honest, straight-forward Soundtrack Reviews, select Sound Clips, the best in online Suites, Composer Interviews (in audio) and much more. Beyond all that, I also want to help you discover some of the hidden gems that are out there as well, so you will see occasional Spotlights on some of the unnoticed or hard to find works.

When it comes to the interviews -- I have always felt that composers have interesting things to share. They offer an insight that is often overlooked by the Hollywood machine, thus I have set out to share as many interviews that I can with the composers of the world. In addition, you will also have a chance to listen to discussions with creative and respected individuals who are not directly involved in the music industry, but who have insightful opinions to share as well. This includes, writers, directors, film critics and more.

In the end, I hope that what you take out of this site is a new found enthusiasm and appreciation for film music and all things creative. It's my goal to share the very best with you.

After all, you may very well be one 'Conan' cassette tape away from being a fan just like me.

Enjoy the tunes
