ScoreNotes interviews Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard.

 

Being based in New Jersey, I don't often have the privilege of covering on-site Hollywood events.  Enter, "The Dark Knight" and composers Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard.

 

I was able to sit down with both composers during their visit to New York as part of "The Dark Knight" premiere week festivities.  They were both in town for the film's IMAX premiere where they conducted a live suite of music from the series before the movie debuted.  Additionally, they were also in New York City to meet the fans via an autograph session at the Virgin Megastore the following day.  Given their extremely busy schedule, I was quite grateful that the composers were able to take some time out for a private interview session with ScoreNotes, presented below in streaming or downloadable formats.

The autograph signing session itself was quite a success and a true measure of how popular the composers are. The turnout was fantastic. Both Hans and James interacted with the fans in a genuine and friendly manner, which was a nice thing to see.  I could tell that everyone who had a chance to meet them really appreciated their enthusiasm and good nature.
